Like the Japanese version of this movie. Badass.

Master of Film Music w/ JNH

I got see me prior boss perform with the Dallas Symphony. This wasn't you typical symphony show. James and Co. played/talked/discussed the various films he has laid down music for. Throw in a q&a with Lawrence Kasdan, a choir, and a world renowned symphony, and it was a very cool experience.

Meatballs (2x)

Went to a party put on by Band of Outsiders and Mr. Porter where they screened one of my favorite movies of all time Meatballs. But, the kicker is that the dudes from Animal catered it and gave us all Meatball sandies to chow down on while watching this Bill Murray classic. They screened the movie at Hollywood Forever Cemetery which was a nice touch.

God Went Surfing With The Devil

My buddy Alex continues to put out amazing stuff with the release of, "God Went Surfing With The Devil."

The film is about the difficulties of being able to surf in Gaza due to the conflict going on there. Here are some pictures from the filming.

Black on Black

The Impossible Project continues to put out some amazing stuff, whether it be refurnished cameras or new kinds of polaroid film. First, they just came out with a black frame polaroid film which costs about $25. Second, the limited edition SLR camera in all black, which can also be yours for $690.

Lisa Eisner for Oliver Peoples

We've seen Lisa's work with photography but she's also quite nifty with a video camera. She recently shot a campaign for Oliver Peoples at the swank Rainbow House.In front of the camera was none other than Devendra Banhart, whom also provided a tune for the short film, and some attractive female model/actress.

Soccer's Lost Boys

I can't even put into words the sadness of this documentary but nonetheless, it's a must watch. Current TV continues to put out great work and a big shout out to my buddy Jeff for producing this one.

Zidane : A Twenty-First Century Portrait

For those who need a little more soccer, or should I say football, in their lives, head on down to The Hammer on July 6 to view this amazing sports documentary. The premise is simple : 17 cameras follow around one of the greatest footballers of all time during a spanish league match. The game itself isn't very important but that's what makes this film so special. Zidane did extraordinary things every game and this film serves as a microscope of sorts to highlight each and every move. It really is like watching poetry in motion. More info HERE.

Sofia Coppola's "Somewhere"

I am beyond excited to see this film. We all know that if the movie sucks, the music will at leas be good. But, something's telling me that this is going to be a special one. Welcome back Stephen Dorff.

Festival in the Forest

Congrats to my buddy Alex Klein for making such a cool documentary for an even greater cause. Bands ranging from Megapuss to Beach House light up the stage in Big Sur, CA wuth Alex in tow capturing all the good stuff. Thanks to Pitchfork for releasing the trailer. Go here for more info.

Happy 30th "Hollywood Knights"

This movie was released 30 years ago today and still manages to be one of my all time favorite movies. Robert Wuhl, Tony Danza, Michelle Pfeiffer, and Fran Drescher star in this comedy set in 1960's Hollywood and the one-liners keep coming throughout. Watch it as soon as possible.
