Football Hooligans

Wikipedia defines this term as the unruly and destructive behavior such as brawls, vandalism, and intimidation carried out by Association football club supporters and fans.
My definition is a little bit easier : one person or more of people who you don't want to mess with because they are insane over the best sport in the world, in which they consider this sport their religion.
I got to experince this first hand when I went to the Eurocup quarterfinals in Barcelona where Liverpool played FC Barcelona (Ronaldinho anyone?). It was 90,000 screaming fans and I think I saw 9 fights but I kinda lost count after 5. The stadium locked down all the Liverpool fans inside the stadium after the game for an hour because they were so drunk. It was madness and I loved it. Here is a quick video of me at a pre-game Liverpool rally. Madness!!!!!!

There have been some movies out lately about this, and Green Street Hooligans doesn't count cuz it sucked, so I wanted to do a post because I am pumped for this next one due out soon. The movie is called "Awaydays," and it looks badass. Here is the trailer and enjoy. Now piss off!

LCD Soundsystem - DJ Set

Wednesdays at Bardot can be a hit or miss in my opinion. One day the door guy is cool, the next day he thinks he is "King Door Man." But, last night was really good as James Murphy and Pat Mahoney of LCD Soundsytem DJ'ed last night there and it was brilliant.
Hell, even Prince was there.
Most often at places like Bardot, the musicians, actors, hipsters, and scenesters do their best to play anything that is from the 60's or from another era but the duo of LCD played some really good dance beats that made me feel like I was at their show ie. I danced my face off. And, I can't dance.

The Smiths - "A Rush and a Push and the land is Ours"

I can't get this song out of my head and the video is brilliant!

MUJI Store Online

This is great news for those who reside in the USA. Muji has just launched its online store for us which comes at the prefect time during this exciting recession. At least most Muji goods are light on the wallet as compared with most other brands. Thanks to selecticism for the update.

Tyler Hansbrough / Sloth

With Tyler and the Heels wining the national championship it got me thinking about some things, actually just one thing......
Many people may know Mr. Hansbrough as "Psycho T" but after thinking about it, I think "Sloth" or "Sloth Jr." fits him much better. Just look at the similarities :
1. both are incredibly large individuals
2. both are incredibly stupid and you feel a little sorry for them.
3. repeat points 1 & 2

Only in LA......

I had an interesting night in LA last night that was funny, weird, and also good I guess. First, went to the Ooga Booga bookstore in Chinatown to see the band White Magic Play. The band took over the 2nd story of the building and played a pretty good show. It was packed and the fire marshall came in and shut it down. Next to us, they were filming the new Alvin and the Chipmunks, which I'm sure will be a very fine film.
Then, we went to HWood to attend a friends' weekly party, but found ourselves in the middle of the set of The Hills. So Funny! I am convinced those people are robots and not real but maybe I am wrong...
It definitely made for an interesting evening though.
