After 3 years of research, interviewing, and more emails than I can calculate, I am happy to say a book is in the works on the weekend my grandfather brought Evel Knievel down to Oklahoma. Some images and info HERE

OKIE

Yes, I am an "Okie," and proud of it. My intern found this for me and it's happily found its home at the SG headquarters. Thanks Noel.
NOTE - Can we please get this 80 year old company back on trek. This company did it!

Bruce Goff

Although Bruce Goff was born in Kansas, he spent most of his time in Oklahoma. He started learning architecture at the ripe age of 12 and continued to master his craft for many years. He worked on roughly 500 projects with about 20% actually being built.
Of all his tremendous work, I can't stop looking at the plans and pictures of one particular house : The Bavinger House
Suprisingly, I've actually been to this house as a friend of mine from college used to live there. Here are some pictures and plans to show you what I mean when I say this house is truly one of a kind.

thx joofy for the heads up on this one

Farm Fresh

I've been in Oklahoma off and on for the past month and hit up some estate sales. When i say "estate sales," it's not an actual estate, but more of a farmhouse. So, it's not very glamorous but I had some good luck with hitting a couple nice spots across "Okietown." Here are a couple of my finds :
1970's ?? Levis Hat
1940's - 70's carpentry books
Greek Week SweatSHIRT
all the small things

OKC Boathouse

The first major step for making Oklahoma City the premier place for rowing, canoeing, kayaking, and fitness altogether. Rand Elliott is a world renowned architect leading the path and having just finished the Chesapeake Boathouse, he is on to the next one with Devon Energy's boathouse.
Hopefully, this will be the training facility for the USA Olympic team. Learn more here.
