Sandy Relief for Printed Matter

It's been a wild ride the past week with Obama and Sandy but there is still work to do for those on the east coast. One shop that I really enjoy is in dire need of help. Donate!!!!!

Philip Maysles

When I was in NYC we went to the Red Rooster in Harlem. It was definitely one of the best spots I've been to food and vibewise. One of the things I really liked about the restaurant was the art on the wall. A waiter told me it was Philip Maysles and I am now thinking I might have to purchase a piece of his.

Jersey Boys

I'm still not over the awesomeness that is Jersey Boys. Francis Castelluccio aka Franki Valli delivered so many classic songs that are still being sampled today by countless rappers, singers, and wannabes trying to make it TODAY. Not too many songs, let alone artists, can stand the test of time but Frankie's entire repertoire seems to hold up to 2010 and beyond.
Here are some of my favorite tunes by the man and his group....

New York in the Fall

I decided to take my lady to a trip to New York for her birthday. When I bought our plane tickets, all I could think about was booking our trip a week before her birthday so I could surprise her, which I ended up blowing by the way, but the week prior was the big Fashion Week. Thus, it felt as though NYC was even more hyped than it already is.
We let all the fashion peeps have their fun and decided to make it more about seeing old friends and eating....a lot. My favorite things about New York is walking and eating, which you can actually do at the same time believe it or not. Overall, the trip was great and too much good stuff to write about. I will give you the basic breakdown though.
I don't have much to show for this trip aside from some bad iphone pictures, a lot of taxi/food receipts, and about 5 extra pounds but the good stuff is all in the dome people. And that's what matters at the end of the day.

Brook Farm General Store

If I lived in Manhattan I would be sure to be at this store every weekend as they seem to have everything, from clothes to house stuff, old and new combined, this store's website is among my daily go-to's in the world of the internet.
One thing that recently caught my eye were a plain pair of white sneakers by a French company called Bensimon. The price seems reasonable as well.

Freeman's Facelift

For those of us that don't live in New York but still want a piece of the Freeman's action, now we can with the recently updated FSC site. There's some really good items here and doesn't disappoint to say the least. For those lucky enough, get to FSC to see the goods in person.

Roman & Williams

Roman & Williams, the design team responsible for making the ACE Hotel (nyc) and Standard Hotel (nyc), allowed Metropolis Magazine to take some sweet pics of their Montauk digs. This might be the coolest house I've ever seen.
