Book Coming Soon

After 3 years of research, interviewing, and more emails than I can calculate, I am happy to say a book is in the works on the weekend my grandfather brought Evel Knievel down to Oklahoma. Some images and info HERE

Sportsman

This was my uncle's watch from the 70's but with a new band. Old/new working quite nice together me thinks.

Cooperville

This is one of the best invitations I have ever seen and it comes from my grandfather's car dealership during the mid 60's, 1967 to be exact. You may recall me writing about him and his buddy Evel. Now, it's my grandparents hanging out with Miss America. Anyone else jealous?

Hand Me Downs

I recently raided my grandparents attic and came away with some good stuff.

(clockwise) - a signed ball by the '85 national champions to my grandfather, 1970's t-shirt for my grandfather's charity, and a 7 inch of the godfather of comedy from my uncle's record collection.

My brother just released his record and to the select few who actually read this thing, I strongly advise you to buy it. The majority of the money will go to my brother, who funded this entire project by himself, and not some fatso sitting behind a desk aka music exec.
Furthermore, one of his songs from the new album got chosen to be the title song for a heartfelt documentary on Autism. Here's the trailer for it.

Pacific Coast Eyes

Congrats to the big bro on his recent video and upcoming record. I encourage everyone to get the single and pre-order the album. And, the video is directed by Dave Green, who has done some solid work himself.

My Grandfather & Evel Knievel - May, 1972

While I was home for Thanksgiving I did some snooping around in my grandparents attic. Specifically, i was looking for some family pictures, clothing, sports memorabilia I could take back to LA with me. I am a sucker for anything old and relating to my family tree. I got very lucky because I stumbled upon a box that simply said "Evel Knievel slides and film, 1972."So, the minute I got back to LA I took the slides in to get them developed and took the 8mm film transferred to DVD.
As for the background on the actual events that took place, I am a little unsure of. From the photos, it seems that there was an amateur race and Evel did his thing after the race.
Overall, I am still in awe of how amazing the pictures are. Whomever took the photos, has some serious talent in my opinion. In the meantime, I'll have to ask my grandfather who was snapping all these great photos.
