This is one of the best invitations I have ever seen and it comes from my grandfather's car dealership during the mid 60's, 1967 to be exact. You may recall me writing about him and his buddy Evel. Now, it's my grandparents hanging out with Miss America. Anyone else jealous?

The Whale
I stumbled upon this book and found some blog-worthy photos. Who knew Philippe Sr. was the stylish one of the family. I always thought it was Jacque aka the one in the red beanie.

Wombleton Records Saved My Life
I DJ'ed a wedding over the weekend and a big chunk of it was playing records during the dinner portion of the evening. This was somewhat of a new venture for me so I made sure I had plenty of appropriate records. It was important for me to play records that would compliment the dinner and not overtake it. Beatles cover songs was the theme for the night and with the aid of Wombleton Records, I found some great stuff that was perfect for the night. Who would have thought that I could find a 7'' of Sergio Mendes covering "With a Little Help From My Friends," and "Fool on the Hill."
The owner of Wombleton knows more about music than anyone I have ever met. He played tons of records for me to see which ones I liked and gave me a great discount when I made my choices. This is THE BEST record store in LA! You can have Amoeba, I'll take Wombleton any day.
Heath for the Home
I hit up an estate sale over the weekend and got rewarded with a 1960's set of Heath mugs and plates. the owners then decided to give me about 20 pieces for free because they wanted to get rid of it. Now it's time to get rid of those Target plates I've had since college.

Lately....
The last couple weeks have been a bit crazy going form OKC, St. Augustine, Malibu, and back to LA. But, its been worth it. These pics represent hanging out watching the NBA Playoffs, eating good food outside, drinking coffee outside and seeing a JCrew shirt lit up at an office is always eye-catching. Anyways, I guess my point is to get out there and get some sun. Sage advice people!

A Couch For A True Dude
You find crazy things in Oklahoma and this is no exception. This couch was taken from the ranch of a wealthy Osage Indian who got rid of it for unknown reasons. The couch itself is from the 30's and the detailing is pretty insane. The upholstery was done in the early 80's and there are some cracks but that only ads to it's charm in my opinion.
