Design NOT Within Reach

I found this cool door stop at Design Within Reach and was tempted to buy it but held off because I thought $98 was a little steep for a ball of rope basically. Then, I did a little research and found another website that had the exact same one...for MUCH less.
This really angered me. Does DWR think they are selling something so obscure that they can hike the prices this high. Is this a limited edition rope ball? I doubt it.
If you like this, please go to CS Post and buy one for yourself, at the cost it should be.

Pagosa Springs, Colorado

I have been going to Pagosa Springs, Colorado ever since I was a little tike. My grandfather has always had a cabin here and about 5 years ago he built a new place here so I decided to start 2009 off right and flew to hang with my grandfather. I thought it was going to be a low key trip but we did a lot of great things in a short amount of time. We gambled, antique shopped (pics soon to follow), ate great food, and watched some good football. Overall, great times with great people.
There will also be a polaroid post for this trip....stay tuned!
*Another new years resolution that just came to mind is to spend more time with family and not let my job run my life.

New Years Eve

Let me start off by saying I hate new years eve parties and such. It's always a let down and quite frankly, it's amateur night. I would rather swallow glass than spend 300 dollars at some meathead bar next to......meatheads. So, I went to my friends' house and they had a quiet but great little party at their new house. Instead of showing pics of us, I thought I would show you a couple pics of their new digs.
By the way, a new resolution for me in 2009 is to have put up more posts so get ready. And workout but that won't last.

I loved the vintage movie posters throughout the house

My Christmas Loot

I had a great Christmas this year. I got lots of great stuff and had a blast being home with my family and friends. I'm definitely homesick but ready for the new year. Onward and upward I guess....

my buddy gave me these awesome vintage binoculars

Christmas Fiesta

I had a Christmas party over the weekend and not to brag, but it was pretty solid, and I have the photos to prove it.
A couple things to note when throwing a Christmas par-tay:

1. Have good music. I had some serious X-mas jams rocking to start the night including the Phil Spector Christmas CD (which I posted earlier), Beach Boys, Elvis, and then had a couple of my friends DJ and it was genius.

2. Have a wide array of drinks. I bought a pony keg of Fat Tire, Red Wine, Egg Nog, and lastly, Brandy Punch. Granted, the punch looked like sewage water, it was the hit of the party. It was gone in a hurry.

3. Have people dress festive. The theme of my party was "A Very Griswold Christmas" so people knew going in they had to rock their grandma's x-mas sweater. I wore a Santa costume by the way.

4. Clean your place of valuables. Nothing got broken in my place because I took anything down of any worth. I suggest you do the same thing.

5. Document the night by buying disposable cameras and passing them around. I bought 8 and passed them out to friends and let them take pics. Definitely a good call.

Rumspringa

My buddy took me to hear a friend's band play at a country club in Los Angeles and I was a little suspect but I always like to hear good music, and I was not let down. The band is Rumspringa and they are really good. It's only 2 lads and they put out some serious sound for only a pair of dudes.
I think the coolest thing about the show was it taking place at a country club, with most of the fans being actual friends of the band. So, it was a relaxed show but a good time for all.
The band is on Cantora Records with some other good bands you may have heard of...MGMT & Violens.

some crowd participation....

Space 15 Twenty

I went to the official opening fiesta for Space 15 Twenty. It's tough to have a bad time when the host has : free booze, free tacos, photo booth, and ghetto dogs (hot dog stand in LA). Charlift performed but I missed it because I am an idiot.
I could go on and on about how much I like this area but I will let you be the judge.
